When you see Makita Duggan on a board, you can think of only one thing… freedom! The pure joy of riding shines through and it is an absolute treat to watch every video she uploads. There is a big reason why she is so happy on the board. Makita is a Lyme warrior! She was diagnosed with Lyme disease which absolutely crippled her and turned her life into a living nightmare. The disease caused her to be bed ridden, enduring seizure after seizure all day. We know from personal experience, having treated several Lyme patients in the past, just how difficult it can be to live with this disease. Mike, our owner, has been quoted as saying that: “Lyme disease is one of the most difficult illnesses to treat. The herx reactions cause some extreme challenges to treatment…”
